Golf Claims 9th PGA Tours Victory of 2006
Celebrating their homecoming event and their third year
anniversary of becoming the #1 hybrid on the Nationwide
Tour, Nickent Golf was hoping for a big week at the Mark
Christopher Charity Classic this weekend.
They got the big week they were looking for in Rancho Cucamonga,
just 20 miles from the Nickent headquarters, when the home
town champion posted a wire-to-wire victory with a Nickent
3DX DC Ironwood in his bag.
Nickent also had a hybrid in the bag of the second place
finisher, their “on-fire” staff player Jeff
Quinney, who now ranks 3rd on the Nationwide Tour money
list and is guaranteed to graduate to the PGA Tour next
year. It was the 3rd 1-2 finish for Nickent on the PGA Tour
this year and their 9th victory on the PGA Tours this season.
This makes 3DX hybrids the winningest hybrid on the 2006
PGA and Nationwide tours.

The winner of the Mark Christopher,
a fulltime PGA Tour player, was playing this week as a rehabilitation
assignment before he makes his first PGA Tour start in nearly
six months after suffering a hand injury in January. In
his first event back, he collected the $90,000 first-place
prize and a much needed confidence boost.
“I was hoping I’d have a chance to win because
this is my home course and in my hometown,” said the
23-year-old native of Seoul, South Korea. “Playing
on my home course was a huge advantage this week. The course
was playing so difficult. Most everyone today was near even-par
which shows how tough it was playing.”
Nickent has now had seven different winners on the Nationwide
Tour in 2006, plus two wins by the #2 ranking player on
the PGA Tour this season. Their extremely popular line of
3DX hybrids have won more than any manufacturer on these
two tours this year, and have earned more top 10 finishes
than any other company on the PGA Tour and Nationwide tours
combined. Fifty percent of the players in the Top 10 on
the 2006 Nationwide Tour money list, all of whom are virtually
guaranteed a spot on the PGA Tour next year, have played
Nickent hybrids this year.
“It has been such an amazing year for us on tour,”
said Nickent CEO Michael Lee. “We congratulate Kevin
on his wonderful win and all of the players who have succeeded
this year with our clubs on tour. We are very appreciative
of their support of Nickent and we are honored to help out
their golf game with our unique hybrids. We have made the
Nationwide Tour our home as a way to form relationships
with the future of the game. We are proud to be the most
successful hybrid on this tour and to be in a position to
help so many players realize their dream of playing on the
PGA Tour.”
Nickent has also realized their dream in the last three
years, becoming one of the biggest forces in the booming
hybrid market. After their third year on the Nationwide
Tour ruling the hybrid kingdom as the #1 ranking hybrid,
Nickent is now dominating the leader board, with the best
players in the world choosing their clubs, in many cases
without endorsement.
“If you ever need a measuring stick to see how you
are doing on tour, you look at the wins and how many of
the best players are using your sticks,” said Lee.
“Five players in the Top 10 used a 3DX DC hybrid in
Rancho, including the first and second place finishers.
This was a nice way to tell that we are still the top dog
on the Nationwide Tour.”
