Nickent 3DX Ends Season as the
# 1 Hybrid on the PGA Tour
In an amazing turn of events, Nickent Golf finished the season
as # 1 hybrid on the PGA Tour! The introduction of the 3DX
DC prototype hybrid helped push the 3DX family of hybrids
to # 1 at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic, the last full-field
event of the 2005 PGA Tour.
Nickent finished as the # 3 overall hybrid on the 2005 PGA
Tour in their first full year with representation on professional
golf’s biggest stage. To achieve this much club usage
was a victory onto itself given that up-and-coming Nickent
does not have a staff of PGA Tour players and does not compensate
players to use their clubs.
Helping to push Nickent to the top spot was their new 3DX
DC Ironwood, complete with new hot face technology and extreme
DC heel/toe Tungsten Polymer weighting. Nickent wanted to
bring their new club to the tour to test player reaction before
the season was over. The feedback they got was far and beyond
what they thought they might encounter. After just two days
of testing, the British Open Champion who made hybrids famous
chose the 3DX DC over his old hybrid clubs and put it into
his bag for the Southern Farm Bureau Classic.
“To become the # 1 most played hybrid on the PGA Tour
has always been our ultimate goal,” said Michael Lee,
CEO of Nickent Golf. “To have our next generation of
hybrids be the catalyst to us reaching # 1 is very special
because we literally just wanted to show the golf club off
to a few players to see what they thought. We really didn’t
think any of the new clubs would make it into play so quickly!”
