Nickent Golf Continues Tour Dominance
of Explosive Hybrid Category
The 3DX Ironwood by Nickent Golf once again
scored the # 1 hybrid ranking this week with one of the highest
club counts of the year on the PGA Tours. Thirty-seven 3DX
hybrids in play at the Nationwide Tour’s Cleveland Open
bested the next closest hybrid manufacturer by 16 clubs.
The number of 3DX clubs in play was so large and the margin
of victory so lopsided that the 3DX actually ranked as the
# 2 overall wood model in the field, including all drivers,
fairway woods and hybrid models in play. Only Taylor Made’s
R7 driver had more of any wood model in play.
“The hybrid category has grown astronomically on the
tours in the last year, almost to the point of being considered
as important as your driver!” said Nickent Director
of Marketing Jon Claffey. “At this time last year, the
Nationwide Tour had about 50 total hybrids in play per event.
At the Cleveland Open, it reached a new record with 94 hybrids
in play. That’s 60% of every player playing a hybrid
golf club! We are happy to be a large part of that growth.”
The 3DX Ironwood accounts for one-third of all hybrids in
play on the Nationwide Tour in 2005. It is by far the # 2
most played hybrid on the PGA and Nationwide Tours in 2005
with over 700 units in play on the year, all without Nickent
endorsing a single player to use the club.
