3DX Ironwood Helps Player to 2nd on Nationwide,
Virtual Lock for 2006 PGA Tour Exemption
A player using a 3DX Ironwood finished 2nd at the Price Cutter
Charity Championship Sunday, losing by one stroke to the eventual
winner after posting twenty under par. It was the 39th Top Ten
earned by a 3DX hybrid in the 31 Nationwide Tour events since
the club was introduced to the tour one year ago at the 2004
Price Cutter event.
The 3DX player sits 8th on the Nationwide Tour money list with
$206,799 and is virtually guaranteed full exemption to the PGA
Tour in 2006. Of his 4 top tens this year; he has one win, one
second, and one third place finish. The win came at the season
opening BellSouth Panama Championship, where the champion said
his 17° 3DX Ironwood was “a key reason for my win.”
Last year, the player finished 53rd on the 2004 Nationwide Tour
money list. With the edition of the 3DX Ironwood to his bag,
the player has had his most consistent year since turning pro
in 1990, making 13 of 16 cuts.
