The best way to design clubs for the picky players on the PGA Tours is to enlist their help. Over 20 professionals played Nickent wedges on tour last year, and utilizing their feedback, the 2008 ARC Wedges are now offered in two new finishes (matte chrome, gunmetal) and in a forged satin version.

The players also helped John Hoelfich, Senior Vice President and legendary designer, design a set of ARC Blades utilizing technology that helps ARC products look like strictly tour clubs, with an internal technology that makes them easier to play for everyone.

Nickent's one-of-a-kind technology, ARC, or Accelerated Rebound Core(R), consists of an internal core that positions a high-rebound elastomer directly behind the strike zone, delivering a lively, solid reaction from the face to the ball and eliminating vibration.

The elastomer weighs 7 times less than the steel surrounding it, creating an internal cavity. This internal cavity gives birth to muscle back wedges that have the look and feel of a blade, and the playability and ease of use of a modern cavity back.

ARC is one of the only patented hidden perimeter weighting systems ever used in wedge. Three holes on the back clubhead allow you to see inside the clubhead, exposing the elastomer that fills the area directly behind the hitting area of the face, which is creates extreme perimeter weighting.

Nickent Master Designer John Hoeflich's passion has always been wedge design. Giving him the project to work with the tour players to build the best looking tour wedge, combined with the forgiveness and feel that ARC technology provides, has made this one of John's favorite projects. The results say it all: It has been a long time coming since a wedge offered this much innovation, this much performance, this much feel and this much good looks all in one design.

“I spent a considerable amount of time with Nationwide and PGA Tour players this past season,” said John Hoeflich. “I was able to find out their favorite finishes, the gentle transitions they prefer and all performance benefits they look for in blades and wedges.”

The lofts available in all three new wedges are 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58°, 60° and 62°. The matted chrome and gunmetal will sell for $89 and the forged satin will sell for $99. The ARC Blade 3-P set will sell for $799 in Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.
